Product configuration

What Product configuration is

Product configuration is where an Owner defines what a product represents and how it is offered to Buyers.

An Owner creates products of three types. Two are bookable: each is created in one of the two booking categories, Nightly accommodation or Spaces and services by time slot, and is ready for Buyers once its booking settings are completed. The third, Equipment and spaces by time or by use, has no calendar: the Buyer uses it on site, and it is ready once its Time and use settings are completed.

Read Roles in Roraima, What a product represents and Categories and product behaviour first if the role, product meaning or category rules are not yet clear.

Menu path

To edit an existing product:

Vendor Back Office → Listings and structures → Listings → select the listing you want to edit

To create a bookable product:

Vendor Back Office → Listings and structures → Listings → New nightly accommodation or New space or service by time slot

To create equipment or a space that the Buyer uses on site:

Vendor Back Office → Listings and structures → Listings → New equipment or space by time or by use

The last button is shown only when your plan includes the category.

The new product opens on General with its booking category already set. The Bookings tab is already there and shows only the settings of that booking mode; date exceptions, seasons and the calendar preview appear after the first save. If you open a new product without choosing a type, Roraima first opens the New listing page, which asks what you want to offer and shows the same type buttons.

The type cannot be changed after creation. To offer the same space the other way, create a new product of the other type.

Product tabs

Use the tabs in this order:

  1. General — name, category, price, description and media.
  2. Options — choices offered to the buyer, such as breakfast included or not included.
  3. SEO — the address of the product page and the title and description shown in search results.
  4. Time and use — how equipment or a space is sold, where the Buyer starts it on site, and the devices, scenarios or programmes it uses.
  5. Extra info — tourist-tax handling, information completed before arrival and the identity-check path used for the product.
  6. Booking configuration — availability, booking rules, guest access, pricing and arrival instructions for a bookable product.

Not every tab applies to every product. Booking configuration applies to a product in one of the two booking categories. Time and use applies to a product in Equipment and spaces by time or by use. They are separate category-driven workflows and do not appear together. Installation products and Authorized Supplier offers follow their own catalogue workflow.

Before editing

Decide what the product represents and choose the category that matches that purpose. Create a bookable product only when the Buyer must reserve the service: New nightly accommodation for a stay booked by the night, New space or service by time slot for a service booked by the time slot. Adding booking settings alone does not make a product bookable. If the Buyer does not reserve anything and simply uses the equipment or space on site, use New equipment or space by time or by use.

Keep Manage your company profile complete before publishing. Required company details include a business telephone with an international prefix. Select the VAT rate for each activity you perform; the product uses the rate for its activity and cannot be published while that rate is missing.

Use the language selector in the Vendor Back Office before writing customer-facing text. Names, descriptions and arrival instructions are stored in the selected content language.

How the product appears in search results

The SEO tab controls how search engines present the product page. Every field is optional: when a field is empty, the page uses the product name as its title and the product description as its summary.

LabelPurposeInstructionCondition
SEO nameThe last part of the product page address.Use a few lowercase words joined by hyphens that describe the product. The grey part in front of the field comes from the product category and is not edited here.If the name is already taken, a variant is created automatically.
Create redirect from old URLSends visitors from the previous address to the new one.Keep it selected so that links already shared and existing search results keep working.Appears only after you change the SEO name; selected by default.
Page titleThe title shown in search results and on the browser tab.Say what the product is and where it is, in plain words. The preview cuts it after about 60 characters.
Meta descriptionThe short text shown under the title in search results.Write one or two sentences on who the product is for and what makes it worth choosing. The preview shows about 145 characters.
Meta keywordsA legacy field. You can leave it empty; major search engines no longer use it.—

The Google rich snippets preview below the fields shows the result as a searcher would see it and updates while you type.

These fields are stored in the selected content language. Switch the language and fill them again to cover visitors who read the site in another language. Write real sentences: repeated keywords, exaggerated claims or other companies' brand names do not help the page and can harm it in search results.

How saving works

Most tabs use the product's main Save action.

Booking configuration has no separate save action: the product's main Save stores its settings, date overrides and seasons together.

If a tab is missing

First confirm that the missing tab is relevant to the product. If Booking configuration is missing from a product that should be bookable, the product was not created as a bookable type: its category cannot be changed, so create a new product with one of the two booking buttons. If Time and use is missing, save the product once: the tab appears after the first save, and only for a product created with New equipment or space by time or by use. Other tabs can depend on enabled features or vendor permissions.

Return to Listings if you opened the wrong product or need to create a new one.

Saving a product does not guarantee that it is ready for sale. If it remains unavailable, return to Manage products, read the visible reason, complete the missing company, VAT, payout, category or product requirement, and then activate the product deliberately.

Where to continue

Start with General, then continue through the tabs relevant to the product. Use Time and use for equipment and spaces by time or by use, and Booking configuration only for a bookable product.
